Our domestic abuse referrals process is designed to be simple, supportive, and confidential, whether you're seeking help for yourself or referring someone.

If you or a loved one could benefit from healthy relationship support, our team are here to help you take the important first steps. By focusing on prevention, and providing a safe space for all, we aim to nurture healthier families in our community.

Who We Support

The Healthy Relationships Awareness Centre
can support:

  • Expectant parents
  • Parents or carers with a child under 5 years old
  • Families experiencing relationship difficulties, seeking relationship support during pregnancy or early parenting
  • Individuals who wish to build emotional resilience, improve communication and access programmes for healthy families.

Who We Cannot Support

For safeguarding and risk assessment reasons, we regret we cannot work with:

  • Medium or high-risk perpetrators of domestic abuse
  • Serial perpetrators of domestic abuse
  • Perpetrators with open criminal proceedings
  • Perpetrators involved in private family court proceedings

Must be expectant parents, or parents/carers with a child under 5

 

For anyone wanting to build healthier relationships, manage conflict better, or make positive changes

Must live in Gloucestershire

What Happens After You Refer

Once a referral is received by the Healthy Relationships Awareness Centre, here's what you can expect:

We confirm receipt of your referral within five working days.

Suitability Screening 

Our experienced team conducts a assessment to ensure your referral is suitable for our program.

Initial Conversation

We arrange an initial appointment to arrange an assessment for you, to understand your family's needs.

Personalised Support Plan

We support you to understand your family goals and develop a personalised support plan.

Signposting

We work with you to explore any additional need you or you family might have and signpost you for further support.

 

Urgent & Emergency Situations

We are not an emergency service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or at significant risk of harm, please call 999. For urgent safeguarding needs, you can also contact the Gloucestershire Emergency Duty Team at 01452 614194.

We treat all domestic abuse referrals confidentially and securely, only sharing information with your consent or if required for safeguarding.

How can I refer someone to the Healthy Relationships Awareness Centre?
